Ok, so Wednesday night was Vaughn's first Trick or Treat experience. I was a little nervous because his Tigger costume has a hood and I thought he might want to pull it down or get it off of his head. He surprised me by never even touching it. It would have been pointless for him anyways because the way the costume went on, he would have never been able to pull it off of his head. Drama averted - PHEW!

So we had traveled to my sister's house because my neighborhood isn't really halloween friendly. Since I've lived there, I have never had any kids come to my place so it made sense to go to Heather's neighborhood. Eric, Rachel and Vaughn trick or treated together which was so precious. Eric is probably considered to be too old for this tradition but I know he wanted to go out with us so he put on a cloak and grabbed a bag.
Vaughn didn't understand WHY he was holding a bag but at the first few houses he would take the candy out after they put it in. We would put it back in to show him it should stay in there and by the third house I think he was getting the hang of it. He didn't really say Trick or Treat but he did say Thank You most of the time which was good.

A lot of the neighbors sat in their driveways handing out candy and a few really got into decorating their house. One house had a ton of decorations outside and a spooky garage with ominous music playing inside. Vaughn was too scared to enter inside the garage and he kept saying "Sorry" and backed away from the kids when they tried to coax him inside.
Most of the drama occurred when Vaughn saw Lollipops. He loves them thanks to the daycare he attends. He gets one every Friday afternoon and calls them "Pops". Well there were a few people with a bowl of "pops" and he would get so excited when they handed him one. He would immediately try to hand it to me and asked me to "open pop". Of course, I said "No, not right now" and he would cry and carry on about the pop. Luckily, we were able to divert his attention in a short period of time and he would forget. He did crack me up one time though because he would not release the lollipop in his hand and we were trying to get him to go to the next house. Eric would try to get near him and he would back away saying "MINE!" He was so worried that Eric was trying to take his lollipop.
By the end of the night, Eric was carrying him from house to house and I can't believe all the candy he got! Looks like Mommy & Daddy are going to have to sacrafice themselves and eat it all. He can't have all that candy! All in all we had a very good time.
