A bit of venting

So I don’t blog about work much because it is a job, and I’m happy to have one. However, I got a bit of news today which stresses me out. One of our big projects has been put on hold. The City has to put an end to the work because they don’t have the money to fund the projects. This span of work was to carry us through the remainder of the year and into the beginning of the next. My boss is so stressed out that he can’t sleep or eat and there is nothing that I can do to help him. I am not terribly worried about my job yet, but I am hoping we can get through this tough time.

I've been out for a day and a half because Kyra has an ear infection. Not exactly how I would like to spend my vacation time, but what can you do? So I come into work with a pile of stuff on my desk, which will keep me busy most of the morning. Then one of my co-workers came in and said that Dave left some binding for me in his office. I’m thinking WTF?! If it was left in your office, he wanted YOU to do it. Well apparently, he was too busy to take care of billable work yesterday. Are you kidding me?! If I were going to have to lay people off, he would be one of the first ones to go! I say that because I’m annoyed, but seriously, I’ve never seen anyone shrug off more work because they don’t want to than him. The term “Team Player” apparently does not apply to him.

AHEM...I'm done with THAT.

Tonight was better for sure. Since Vaughn has started preschool he has had homework some nights to practice he letters. He LOVES to do homework, which I hope his enthusiasm continues thoughout his life (I'm not holding my breath). He will tell me as soon as we get in the truck he has homework (even if he doesn't) and we get to it as soon as we get home.
