Today is Kyra's first day at Kids Zone. Vaughn has been going here for the last 2 1/2 years and she is finally old enough to be there with him.
The people at her former daycare were nice but it was hard dropping her off there every morning. She would cry and cling on to me, which I know is a phase, but she wasn't outgrowing it. I was hoping that the change to be with her brother would make being at daycare easier for her. Turns out I was right!
Once I get her out of the car, all the kids are outside as it was a cool morning. Ms. Kay sees her and calls out to her with her arms outreached, and Kyra just runs over to her. Ms. Kay picks her up and Kyra doesn't struggle or anything to get away or cry for me. She is perfectly happy to be with Ms. Kay.
I give both the kids a hug and kiss goodbye and get in my truck to drive away. I wish I had just a few minutes longer to take out my video camera and record Vaughn. As I was driving away, I see him carrying his sister down the playground and shouting to all the kids "THIS IS MY SISTER!!"
It was just a cute and proud moment on how much he loves her and wants to show her off.

Holy cow I can't get over how tall Vaughn is getting. That is such a sweet story that they'll love reading in their scrapbooks for years to come. I'm glad they are both at the same place now. That must be so much nicer to drop off and pick up at one place. I wouldn't know...but I'm not bitter. :)
