Happy New Year...11 days later

Ok, so I have been remiss in updating my blog. I have moved many files from my computer but it is still not running at optimal performance which means I will have to move everything I can possibly rescue and reformat it. I hate it when that happens!

Christmas was wonderful. Vaughn was definitely more into Christmas this year and opening gifts. He liked opening, but he wanted to play with each present and wasn't interested in the next. To say he made out like a bandit would be an understatement. Other than a few outfits, it was pretty much a cars Christmas. Which at this moment in time is his most favorite thing to play with.

We had gone to my parents for the Christmas celebration dinner and Eric & Rachel got a Wii from their grandparents. I wish I had taken photos of them playing the games and setting up, but it was just too funny to watch to think about taking photos. I think we all had a very nice Christmas, the only sad part of the day was leaving Vaughn with my parents. I had to leave him there because Daycare was closed for the week, and Justin & I still had to work.

Vaughn did his best to make it easy on me as we left. There were no tears on his part, no clinging on to either of us. We told him we were leaving and he says "BYE". That's it. He was WAY too interested in playing with his new race car set to be bothered with us. He had a great week with Memere and Papa playing with the dog, running around outside, and learning golf on their little putting green. I picked him up on New Year's day and he brought a tear to my eye. The second he saw me, he comes running yelling "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!" Now, I felt he might have missed me for a minute! :)

I did not make "official" New Year's resolutions because I hate feeling like a failure come the next New Year's Eve, but I do hope to accomplish more scrapbooking - at least get caught up on Vaughn's first year album. He grew by leaps and bounds that first year and I want to have it documented before the new baby comes and I have to get that book done too! I have no idea how Marcia completes as many albums as she does for her 2 kids and the "family" album. I think it is her basement!! LOL!

This past Tuesday I got the best news ever. I had my ultrasound appointment to check on the baby's development, and of course, find out the sex. I have thought all along with this pregnancy it was a girl. Many reasons WHY I felt it was a girl, but of course there is no accurate wives tale to predict it, just medical technology. So my appointment was scheduled for 3:30pm on 1/8/08. I had to work and did my best to keep myself busy, but I think I was useless overall! Justin meets me at work at about 2:55 and I am not quite ready to leave, naturally. We arrive at 3:25 and I am so anxious and what happens? They make me wait for an HOUR before I am seen. That was torture but I was patient.

Finally, we are seen at a little after 4:30 and the technician goes over the heart, brain, legs, hands, practically everything but what I want to know. How ANNOYING. Finally she gets to the sex and I am nervous with anticipation, but my intuition was confirmed and we are having a GIRL! I cried when she said girl, that is all I wanted. Justin was watching the screen, he didn't even look at me and said "Now don't start crying." I had to tell him "Too late, but it is a happy cry!"

I tried scanning the ultrasound pics at work, however they came out terrible. So when I get home I will scan them on my desktop so I can upload them here!

Now, on to the naming. We didn't even discuss names, I didn't want to, until we knew what we were having. We haven't narrowed down anything but it is my job to come up with a list of names I like and he will most likely do the same. HOPEFULLY, this time, he will give me names he would actually name her versus just names he found like he did last time.

I also have so many pics I would like to post, so I am hoping to get some scrapping and uploading done this weekend. I know...I keep saying it...but I really mean it this time!! :)
