April Recap...I haven't been on here for awhile!

I was told to update my blog but where to start? I have been so remiss since April that I think I have to do this in installments. I'll go back to April because some pretty fun things happened then.

April 18th I took Vaughn to his very first baseball game. I really wanted his first game to be a Red Sox game but my baby shower was being held when that game was going to happpen so his first game was the White Sox v. Tampa Bay Rays (formerly the Tampa Bay Devil Rays). This was a company sponsored event so it was Vaughn & myself (Justin was in class), my co-workers and their families.
We had a great time watching the game, but I ended up watching Vaughn more. He would watch the field and then go back to playing with a mini doodle pro that another mother brought and let him play with.
He was so good for the entire game, until we left. He then didn't want to hold my hand, wanted to take off on me and it wasn't easy trying to chase him down being 34 weeks pregnant. He was very tired and after I wrangled him into his car seat we went home.

April 9th ws my Dad's birthday but due to his schedule and mine, I wasn't able to get up to see him until the 20th. I was very nice and made him a birthday cake the way his Mom used to, which was a yellow cake, with vanilla frosting and rasberry jelly in between the layers. I know that meant a lot to him as he misses her a lot.
I gave my dad tickets to the Red Sox game for him and my mom. Of course, I wanted to take Vaughn so April 27th we headed to that game together. More about that below.

April 25th was my baby shower. The date and time was not a surprise but the place was, all thanks to my friend Beth. She does not live in Florida anymore but comes to visit here often for appointments for her daughter and to hang out with her friends and Mother-in-law. I left my 11 year old niece in charge of my camera (actually, she comendered my camera) and I didn't get shots of all my friends that came, which was a minor bummer but the over-all shower was very nice.

It was held at the Bistro & Tea House which is very charming. The backroom where the actual event was held had a nice banner and some streamers.
They make their own blends of tea (I wonder how that is accomplished?), and make all the food. There were quarter sandwiches of different varieties and pastries. Yes, I only ate the pastries, the baby loved it.

We did not have traditional games, but my sister did create a mad lib like she did for me when I was pregnant with Vaughn. Everyone read their completed mad lib aloud and we all had a good laugh.

The gifts were mostly clothes. It was pretty much a sea of pink, but that's ok, she needs clothes. I don't want people to think she's a boy! And to make some people happy, here is a pic of me at the shower all nice and round. I did feel pretty with this pregnancy, must be the little girl shining on me from the inside.

April 27th was the Red Sox Game at Tropicana Field. Vaughn was excited to be back at the stadium. He was very good holding Papa's hand and both my parents were so impressed how well behaved he was for the entire game. The Red Sox lost, but it is still great to see them play for only $7 a ticket! I know you can't go to Fenway for that price!!!

My mom brought her binoculars, which Vaughn wanted to use. He was pretty cute using them upside down, looking through the wrong end. We really got a kick out of him.

Well that was April in a nutshell. I did even manage to work on a scrapbook page for Vaughn and even handmade thank you notes for my shower gifts. I didn't remember to take pics of that stuff though...how the hell did that happen? Next blog you will see will be the May update.

Ta Ta for Now!
