Thanksgiving was hosted by my sister at her house. I brought a pie, which we really didn't need at all! My Mom had made an apple pie, I made an apple pie, my grandmother made an apple and a blueberry pie and my sister made a banana creme pie. I could have just had dessert and skipped the dinner all together! MMM pie!
Heather did a great job cooking the food. I don't like or eat turkey or most of the the traditional Thanksgiving food so she went to a special effort to make me a lasagne. She has never made one before and she is not a cheese fan like I am, so she didn't know that you needed to put the ricotta cheese in between the layers but instead put it all on top of the lasagne. It was pretty funny, but I really appreciated that she went to all the trouble for me.
We had a nice dinner with my parents, a friend Michael and all the kids. Dessert was fun because there were so many choice, I think everyone had a slice of each pie (with ice cream), if not, pretty close to it!
Kyra also had a taste of dessert. She was sitting with my mother and mom wasn't paying attention. The quickest fingers in the south snatched some pie and put her hand in her mouth before my mom figured out what happened! All of a sudden I hear, O, Kyra had some pie! At first I thought my mom fed it to her, but quickly realized that Kyra just helped herself. She tried to go in for seconds, so it is safe to assume she likes apple pie.
This was a nice day we spent together as a family.

I love Thanksgiving because it's a relaxing holiday with family. Of course I can say that because I don't cook, but I do have to clean the dishes. That's funny about all those pies! I love the pictures of your Memere with both your kids. Very sweet. Heather has a bit of a book collection, huh?
