Impromptu Birthday Party

July 16, 2010

Today when I went to pick up the kids, there was a note left for me. It was from the mom of one of Vaughn's best friends, asking us to come to a local play place for his birthday party. We didn't have other plans, and I would have felt so guilty if we didn't show up since they hardly see each other anymore. Once I told Vaughn we were going, I was "the best Mommy in the whole world".

When we got there, Andrew at first played it cool, but then he and Vaughn were pretty inseparable.

Of course, Vaughn had to put on a costume first, very important. It was very difficult getting him OUT of the costume just to eat dinner.

The theme was Transformers and Andrew's Gram made the cake. She's a baker at a local catering place (and their food is so fabulous and this cake was too)!

The kids HAD to sit next to each other for dinner, making some poor other kid cry.

After dinner and cake (which Vaughn surprised me and had some)it was time to wear them out in the play area. They played so great together, even shared the "baseball" area with another kid they didn't know taking turns. I was very proud of both of them.

Needless to say, both kids pretty much went right to sleep all played out!

Aww, looks like a fun time was had by all...except for the poor crying kid. HAHA! You should have recorded him on the Flip cam telling you you're the best mom ever. It'll come in handy when he tells you he hates you. :)

Cake...I want cake.
