Today we went to Lake Sunapee which is a very sentimental place to me. When Marcia and I first met in 1988, her parents took us both to Lake Sunapee for the day. Unbeknown to me, that would be the last time I saw her that summer before she went to Arizona to spend the summer with her Dad, until I ran into her again on the bus for the first day of 9th grade, circa 1988.
I was so excited to take the kids to a lake. You would NEVER dare to go to a fresh water lake down in Florida, too many alligators think you're FOOD! I did however, forget how COLD the water is up here, compared to the Gulf water in August. The kids however didn't seem to notice.
Part of the beach toys were squirt guns which were all fun and games until the boys started squirting each other. Their was lots of tattling going on, which we could have done with out, but overall they played very nicely together.
We ran into my friend April and her kids, which was great. Her youngest and my youngest look so similar they could be sisters and they got along so great! April's son came over to play with the boys too and they all had so much fun.
Gelson turned out to be quite the hit with the boys too because he came over to our table where we were all having a snack and shared his Italian Ice. I think the other kids got more than he did! He is just a little sweetheart.
We went over to the playground and the kids played on the monkey bars, swings etc. I wasn't sure if Vaughn could cross the monkey bars, I had never seen him try. But after watching Nathan and Nicholas he did it with ease. Marcia & I made a big deal about it and we said it was because he was eating his veggies. He said, "Yeah, and my Daddy will be so proud of me". I am quite proud of him too!
Of course after a long day at the beach, pictures must be taken!
Here are a couple of my favorite shots that we took.
Once back at Marcia's, while dinner was being made, the boys played Vaughn's new Toy Story Space Shooter game. Auntie Heather gave it to him for his birthday to play in NH, and Nathan read the rules while they all helped set up the game. They played so great together, another success story for the day!
Once dinner was ready, they were very good eating everything and just looked so cute sitting together at the table.
It was the convention of the little kids, and then it was tubby, story and then some unwind time for Marcia & I.

Ahhh, unwind time. This was a great day. It's not as relaxing as when we were teenagers just worrying about our tan and what we were going to listen to, but it is still fun. Having all the kids together was great too. Is it story time yet? Mommy's tired.
