BIG Boy Bed

I have been wanting to get Vaughn out of the crib and into a real bed since before Kyra was born. Needless to say for various reasons, this never happened. The main reason is I needed new mattesses for the frame.

The frame is special to me because this was my bed when I was growing up and this was also my Mom's bed when she was growing up. It means a lot to me that I've had the use of so much furniture that has family history.

I had been waiting for Justin & I to go pick up the mattresses together but I got tired of waiting for him. Between school and studying it just didn't seem we were ever going to be able to go up there to get them. So I was able to get out of work early and picked them myself. I was quite proud of myself because the actual mattress was surprisingly heavy. But I was able to put them on the cart myself, and then load my truck myself. That was fun, I'm sure I looked foolish but I did it myself.

That night I had Justin bring them upstairs and we set up the bed. Of course, Vaughn was not ready to sleep it so while the bed was all made and pretty he slept in his crib that night, much to Mommy's disappointment. He did enjoy sitting in it as long as he didn't have to stay there!
