Here are some photos and events that took place in my life during May before Kyra's birthday that I forgot to mention:
May 8, 2009
Today was the first time Kyra met Uncle Darryl. Unfortunately, Mommy wasn't smart enough to actually get a picture of the two of them together. Hopefully when he's in town again I can get a few pics of them for her scrapbook. Here is the picture I took for Darryl so he can put it in his frame.

Today was Miles for Moffitt. This is a walk/run that benefits the Moffitt Cancer Research Center. Many people I know and love have cancer and so this event is very special to me. This is the second year in a row the people in my office decided to do this event and all the money raised goes directly to the cancer center.
I had to take the kids with me as Justin now works weekends but they were pretty good. Tired but well behaved. My friend/co-worker Mike was so awesome. He carried Vaughn almost the entire mile. Not to mention parking was a bitch so we ended up walking a mile before the race even started!
Mike's mom Carol pushed Kyra in her stroller and took off with her. Unfortunately, I do not currently have possession of the only group shot of us, Mike has that on his camera.
Here is Katie and Kyra after the race chilling out in their strollers.

Justin gets into a motorcycle accident at 6:50 AM. Not exactly how I wanted to start my morning. He is the luckiest person I know as he didn't dump the bike, he managed to keep it upright, and the accident did minimal damage to the bike considering.
What happened was Justin was heading North and the other vehicle coming from the southern direction wanted to make a left-hand turn. The light had turned yellow, Justin was going through the intersection and from what Justin tells me, the other driver hesitated as if he saw him and then proceeded to go anyways. Justin ended up smacking into him on the back quarter panel of the other driver's car. The guy then stopped IN the intersection instead of pulling over to the shoulder to make it difficult for other traffic. He stayed by his car and never once asked Justin if he was ok. This guy really showed his true character. Needless to say, the other driver was cited for the accident.
These aren't great shots but the brake pedal is in a more vertical direction than it should be.
A better view of the brake pedal
Broken directional
Justin ended up with two bones fractured in his foot and shouldn't drive his motorcycle until at least August. Hopefully the fractures will heal correctly and he won't have any problems down the road.
Yeah, here are his skanky feet.

I'm glad you did the walk again this year. It's great to have something that you feel strongly about and to participate in it. You forgot to mention another reason why Justin was so lucky- the drive had insurance!!!
