Today was a big day for my niece Rachel. She decided that she wanted to get her ears pierced, before she went to camp. I told my sister I HAD to be there to witness the experience (and document it too, of course).
So I took Kyra and met them at the Brandon Mall. We stopped at the Piercing Pagoda first to see their selection and prices and then went over to Claire's. Kyra got her hands on some sunglasses, and I had to see what she looked like with them on. She's my little Diva in training!
Rachel liked the selection better at the Piercing Pagoda so we went back there and patiently waited our turn. I wanted to get a "Before" and "After" shot but she wasn't being overly cooperative. I don't know if she was just nervous or what, because she doesn't normally act like her brother when it comes to pictures!
When she can't duck and hide from me.
The technician put the dots on her ears and once she had approval started to get the earrings ready.
I asked Rachel if she wanted them pierced at the same time. At first, she was unsure, but I convinced her that in the long run she would prefer this option.
Here is her reaction after the piercing. OUCH!
She was upset because it hurt, but in the long run, I know she won't regret getting them pierced. I look forward to getting her pretty earrings for Christmas!!

How fun! I'm sure the pain if far from her mind now and she's just enjoying being a girly girl. I don't remember having mine done, but I don't wear earrings anymore since my hair covers my ears.
