Today is the first day for Vaughn to attend Deer Park Elementary Summer Program. This was a great opportunity we couldn't pass up. This is the elementary school Vaughn will start this August for kindergarten and we are hoping he will meet some new friends and won't be scared or nervous on his first day.
I hadn't reminded him over the weekend he would be starting a new school so he was quite apprehensive and upset when we dropped him off this morning. He was very clingy to both Justin and I and was not happy we were leaving him there. I left him feeling a bit misty-eyed as I didn't want him to be sad and feeling alone.
I really wish I had taken an "after" photo because when I picked him up he was all smiles and exclaiming "MOMMY, I REALLY LOVE MY NEW SCHOOL!"
I am very relieved because I didn't want him to hate it there, but considering all the trips and fun learning activities planned for the summer, I didn't think that he would.

I know what you mean about them feeling lonely. Nathan and Nicholas both don't have best friends where they are for the summer and it kills me to think they are feeling alone. I'm happy he likes his new school. It'll make the summer easier for both of you along with his first day of school.
I don't understand your blog's communication to my blog! You have to post 5 or so blogs before it shows up you updated it!! Glad to see that everything is going well. We HAVE to get the kids together.
I am glad your little guy ended up enjoying his summer school program!
