Uncle Darryl is not in town very often, and was unable to make it for the weekend of Vaughn's birthday. He made up for it this weekend, as he and Granny took Vaughn out for his very first movie. I really wanted to be the one to share that experience with him, but it was so important to Uncle D that I said okay.
Vaughn was very excited that Uncle D and Granny were taking him to see Toy Story 3. I hear he filled up on popcorn and drink and had a great time.
Once the movie was over, Granny called and asked for Kyra and myself to join them so Vaughn could open his belated presents from them. Once we got there, Uncle D gave the kids these bottle lollipop thing - talk about SPOILED.
Here is Granny showing off her new tool of discipline, you can see the kids took this very seriously.
So not to feel left out, Granny gave Kyra a Dora doll and Vaughn was able to open his presents from her and Uncle D. This was an Iron Man, Spiderman birthday all the way!
Of course, no kid toy would be complete without "some assembly required" or acts of God just to get them out of the package.
Once everything was pried from the boxes and put together, Vaughn really enjoyed playing with each one.

Yay! Birthdays are more fun when they are spread out anyways because the gifts just keep on coming! I know what you mean about getting things out of the boxes. Why is it necessary to have three twist ties on every item in a box? And who puts all those in there in the first place? Complete torture because the kids are trying to grab it before I am done getting it out. But then they play nice and quiet. :)
